Hi! My name is Olivia I’m a registered acupuncturist. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and a keen interest in the human body and healthcare. With a strong athletic background, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Prince Edward Island while also playing varsity hockey.
As a kinesiologist, I was introduced to acupuncture and its incredible benefits. I was intrigued by it, and through research learned how acupuncture can help a variety of conditions, both physical (such as frozen shoulder, back pain) and mental (such as anxiety, depression). This discovery led me to pursue a career in acupuncture. I graduated with a diploma in acupuncture from The Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Halifax, NS.
As I perform acupuncture, it continues to amaze me. There is always something new to discover and build on. I admire how the practice considers all aspects of an individual. That treatment plans can be specialized to the patient (even with a condition as ordinary as the common cold). Seeing patients experience positive effects and relief is a joy and incredibly rewarding.
I incorporate both my Western and Eastern backgrounds to treatment, focusing on finding the root of the health issue and taking the whole patient into consideration. I’m dedicated to providing quality care, comfort, and a healing environment to my patients.
I love being able to offer treatment to those who have limited options otherwise. So I’m excited to team up with Pelvico to help provide care for women and patients with pelvic/orthopaedic conditions.

Hey! I’m Sara, I completed my Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, and my Bachelor of Kinesiology from Acadia University. While attending Acadia, I completed the Sports Therapy Assessment and Management Program. This allowed me to work as a Student Therapist with the Acadia Varsity Women’s Rugby Team for two years, providing on site first aid and helping rehabilitate athletes after injury from sport. It was within this role that I took a strong interest in helping athletes treat and manage their injuries and decided to pursue Physiotherapy!
Since finishing school, I have worked in private orthopaedics in St. Johns, NL. While I love orthopaedics, I have always had a strong interest in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and have since completed my Pelvic Health Levels. I am thrilled to be teaming up with Pelvico and to begin treating individuals with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. I have a particular interest in the treatment of persistent pain and look forward to obtaining more advanced Pelvic Health Physiotherapy certifications in this area.
My approach to rehabilitation is exercise focused, and I encourage my clients to take an active role in their rehabilitation. I enjoying treating hands on, with individualized exercise prescription and a focus on client education. I also implement a combination of dry needling, manual therapy, and soft tissue techniques to assist clients in getting back to their regular activities as soon as possible.

PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPY
Maria is a physiotherapist and co-founder of Pelvico Health Centre who focuses on treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) at Acadia University before earning her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University.
As a former elite soccer player, Maria developed an early appreciation for injury rehabilitation and performance optimization after navigating her own injuries. She has worked with elite athletes across numerous sports, including soccer, hockey, rugby, football, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, CrossFit, running, and strength sports.
Her passion lies in helping active individuals overcome injury, optimize performance, and confidently return to the activities they love.
Maria’s career took a unique direction after completing a clinical placement in pelvic health physiotherapy, where she recognized the important connection between athletic performance and the pelvic floor. Since then, she has completed extensive post-graduate training in pelvic health, orthopaedics, acupuncture, dry needling, pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation, allowing her to bridge the gap between sports medicine and pelvic health.
Today, Maria has a special interest in helping athletes, pregnant and postpartum individuals, and active adults safely return to sport, exercise, and high-level performance. Since becoming a mother herself, she has developed an even deeper appreciation for the physical and emotional challenges that accompany pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.
She is passionate about empowering new parents with evidence-based rehabilitation that helps them regain confidence, strength, and trust in their bodies.
Whether someone is training for a marathon, returning to CrossFit after having a baby, managing persistent pelvic pain, recovering from surgery, or simply wanting to move without limitations, Maria believes everyone deserves individualized care that supports their goals, not asks them to give up the activities they love.
Maria is also the Clinical Director for the Nova Scotia Healthy Athletes Program in FunFitness and is committed to improving access to healthcare for individuals with intellectual disabilities. She is passionate about advancing inclusive, evidence-based physiotherapy throughout the province.
Maria’s treatment approach combines education, hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, acupuncture, dry needling, and functional rehabilitation to create personalized treatment plans that help patients build resilience and achieve lasting results.
